The girls have been big into pretend play (Disney Princesses, dress up, barbies, figurines, dolls, etc) lately ... well for the last six months or so. The conversation after breakfast this morning went like this:
E: Kaley, let's go upstairs because Belle is going to the doctor to get pregnant!
K: O.K. Emma
E: K, isn't this exciting? Belle is getting pregnant at the doctor's office?
As they vacated the area and headed upstairs, I was left sitting alone at the kitchen table hoping that Emma doesn't think our daddy helps his patients get pregnant while he's at work all day long!
Please note that usually the dolls/figurines etc. typically go on hikes or attend the prince's ball or on occasion they die. (Does anyone else have kids who act out morbid behavior with their dolls???)
This pregnancy appt. at the doctor's office was a new "outing" and it's fit for the books! Just in case you are wondering, my daughter does not know about in vitro.

Jen, my girls are so into morbid things. They talk about dieing all the time. I know what you mean about pretend play, my girls do it all the time. Since i had Saylor, the girls have been nursing the babies now. And they stuff the babies in the shirts and head to the hospital. Kids are funny!
Oh, my girl is into morbid things too! She is always saying someone dies in the play, or they've been maimed. Not sure where that one came from...
That is so funny. i wonder if she's heard people talk about infertility. i'm amazed sometimes at what joshua picks up.
Ever since Maya saw me pregnant with Luke she pretends to have babies or her animals have babies all the time. Sometimes there are noises included.
