House Arrest!

The girls have had colds (fever, cough & nasal congestion). Kaley got it Sunday. Emma soon followed. It's Friday, and the end is no where in sight. Well, Kaley seems to be better (aside from the cough which I assume will last another week). Emma gets the phantom fever every afternoon or evening. Any time during the day when she is not feverish, she acts like she'd be well enough to go to preschool. Then the fever returns (dum, dum, dum, dum, duuuuuuum)!

As if hainvg family and friends nearby isn't reason enough to boast about our upcoming move to Cali, I'll give another here: no winter! That is to say that winter in Cali does not involve weather below 30 degrees during the day, it doesn't invovle snow (unless you're in the mountains-which we will not be), it doesn't involve blustery wind (the Santa Anas aren't a whole lot better though, especially in view of the recent fires), and it doesn't mean that you must stay inside to avoid the cold ... espeically when your children are sick and there's no where to take them 'cause they're infected with germs but you're going crazy staying inside your house 'cause you've been on house arrest for five days already. No, in Cali during the winter time if the girls get sick I can actually escape the house. We can venture into the backyard, just think of the freedom. I can take them to the beach because they'd be outside in the open air so the chances of spreading germs would be next to none. The possiblities for fresh scenery seem endless. Here's to dreaming of life-to-be in the comfort of California's climate.
